|Steve Jobs changed the way I see & hear...|
I find the news of Steve Jobs's death particularly sad. While it is true that his legacy will continue to shape how audio-visual media is consumed for generations to come - we are surely going to miss the special chemistry and poetry he brought to bare on the design and marketing of technology.
Today, I consume audio-visual media in a profoundly different way than I did few years ago. And that is only because of Jobs and Apple. Though Apple didn't invent the portable music and video players, the vision of Jobs and his designers and engineers changed our video and music landscape dramatically with the launch of iPod & iTunes in 2001, iPhone in 2007, and the iPad in 2010.
While I want to thank Jobs for changing the way I watch and hear...movies and music, I am especially thankful to him for profoundly changing how my 3 year old son learns about the world !
Jobs, the poet who changed audio-visual landscape is surely going to be missed.
